At Mechanics of Movement we assess lower limb function for complex lower limb injuries.
Our specialty is in finding the key constraints responsible for ongoing lower limb issues that aren't responding to rehabilitation.

Our two-model assessment pathway allows us to assess and analyse the lower limb from both an injury and prevention/performance perspective. These two pathways are:

Lower Limb Biomechanics Assessment
Injury Profile

The 'Lower Limb Biomechanics Assessment' objectively measures movement quality, range of motion, strength, power and reactive strength to gain clear insight into the underlying reasons for ongoing symptoms.

For:
Longstanding lower limb issues of active individuals that haven't responded to rehabilitation.

Outcome:
Objective reasons for slow recovery, identify strengths & weaknesses and key drills to focus on.

RunScreen Assessment
Lower Limb Performance & Risk Profile

The 'RunScreen' assessment objectively measures movement strategy of running, hopping and landing, as well as capacity and reactive strength of the lower limb to help create an individualised lower limb profile.

For:

Athletes & runners who want to know their lower limb function & injury risk profile, rehab athletes returning to running/sport.

Outcome:
Insight into lower limb biomechanics & movement strategy, identify strengths & weaknesses and key areas to focus on.

This service is NOT for:
Acute injury assessment or recent surgery.
If this is the case we will happily assist with referral for acute rehabilitation to other trusted providers.

How it works:
1. Assessment - 60 minute assessment based on lower limb, movement and force plate testing where appropriate. Identify key contributing constraints and prescribe key exercise intervention

2. Re-Assessment - 4/8/12 weeks later (depending on presentation) to re-measure and monitor change.

Fees

Initial Assessment: $180 / $220
Reassessment: $180
